Meredith Edelstein MA, EdS, LEP, NCSP is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and Licensed Educational Psychologist who has worked for over 10 years serving special needs populations in a variety of settings including public schools, therapeutic mentoring, and therapeutic after school programming. Meredith excels in her work targeting anxiety, depression, attention deficit challenges, and social difficulties. She approaches each counseling session with an open heart and a belief that all children deserve to be heard and appreciated for who they are.
Meredith’s counseling approach is eclectic in nature, pulling from behavioral, cognitive, and artistic methodologies to best address the child’s individual needs so they can succeed in school, relationships, and in everyday life. She is trained in both DIR/Floortime and the Collaborative Problem Solving Approach.
Meredith completed undergraduate work in psychology and education at Goucher College and continued on to receive her Masters of Arts in Education and Educational Specialist's Degree from Tufts University. She is currently a Ph.D. student at Lesley University, completing her doctoral work in counseling and psychology with an emphasis on leadership and social justice. Meredith is passionate about helping children develop their ability to self-advocate and understand their own strengths and areas for continued growth. She works to represent the child’s voice while also listening to and representing the perspectives of the child’s family, teachers, and other supporters.
Meredith has extensive experience working with the early childhood population (ages 3 through 10) and is passionate about using these years to set a solid foundation for success. She is also experienced in working with mid childhood, pre-adolescent, and adolescent populations.
In addition to her therapy practice, Meredith also offers yoga classes and workshops at The Village Oasis in Beverly, Massachusetts. Their website is www.thevillageoasis.com.
